Sears Monument Company began in 1911. The goal of the founder was to provide a product of value along with the best possible service to local residents. That goal is carried on today. Sears Monument Company strives to help families during a time when decisions are difficult to make. That commitment has resulted in the companys expansion to four showrooms, located in Charleston, Huntington, Beckley and Parkersburg, WV. Additionally, there are over 20 funeral homes that present our products to the families they serve.

A portion of our success is attributed to our knowledge of cemetery locations and requirements of the perpetual care cemeteries (those owned by private companies, or, individuals). We install memorials, or, deliver memorials to over 800 different cemeteries each year. Our knowledge of these cemeteries allows us to help our clients make appropriate selections for their particular cemetery terrain and regulations, if applicable. Have you ever purchased a part for your vehicle only to find it would not fit? The same can happen with grave markers. Most frequently this occurs in cemeteries with regulations requiring a specific material, or, a specific size. Our knowledge of these matters have saved our clients the dissappointment from this particular situation when purchasing a memorial. We will not, knowingly, sell you a granite marker to go into a cemetery that requires bronze only.

You may have a budget to work within. There are many ways to price a memorial. The size, finish, carvings and color of granite are some of the factors that determine the pricing. Sears Monument Company will work with you to maximize your investment within your budget.

Sears Monument Company displays more varieties of granite than many dealers. This allows clients a first-hand knowledge of what they are selecting. You do not have to look through pictures in books, which may give a false representation of the granite selected. We can explain how different ways of texturing the granite will give enhanced beauty and a unique appearance to your design. The textures can benefit you by allowing the carvings and lettering to become more visible in a particular design. Our staff attends ongoing seminars that allow us to be up-to-date in technology and design, thus, allowing our clients to receive the best service available.

Use a memorialist that is established. Our work can be seen in surrounding cemeteries. This gives assurance that our ability to give you quality carving and engraving on your memorial will be our utmost concern. An established memorialist will, also, have the ability to go back to the cemetery and engrave any future dates of death on your purchase.
Why Sears
We strongly recommend using a local memorialist.  Who better will know the terrain, climatic conditions and will be equipped to handle your investment?
